Q: What is Fass (Engraved Seal)?
A: The cosmos is a safety deposit box holding the treasures of the Divine Secrets that have formed the very existence of human beings, and as like any other security apparatus it has a mechanism to verify the sanctity of its concealment. In old days that was done by placing the stamp of seal, engraved by some complex insignia, upon the concealed as attestation to its unmolested preservation. If the seal found broken, then the examiner would know for sure that the sanctity of the content had been violated, as in our case if the seals are broken the human being shall cease and  cosmos will be left a useless vast pile of substances without purpose, like unto an empty safety deposit box filled with sand.

Q: Why Fass (Engraved Seal)?
A: The insignia engraved upon the seal serves two more purposes:

1.    Identifies the owner of the seal e.g. a king or a governor
2.    Attests to the authenticity of what is concealed as the true original issued by the owner

Therefore every prophet was an engraved seal which stamped the cosmos to preserve all in it and stamped the human history thus identifying the owner governor of the cosmos and provided attestation verifying the veracity of what the prophet said and did. Finally the prophets’ appearances were attestations to the fact that the life on this planet is a purposeful life and it is not a simulation of some kind or a random cosmic accident. Each prophet would do that in a unique different way, with de novo complexities.

Q: What is Noah’s Fass (Engraved Seal)?
A: One such seal is the Fass Nuhiya or the Engraved Seal of Noah which upon it a Kalima or an infinitely particularized Divine Verbiage is engraved. As the kings used to wear a ring with their insignia engraved upon to seal/preserve their edicts and treasures, so Ibn Arabi sees the engraved seal of Allah stamped the sanctity of the treasure hidden within the cosmos i.e. human creation, and he further sees each prophet as a different insignia upon a different seal, each engraved with incredibly specialized verbiage and insignia (complex insignia required to defy the copcats). Noah’s experience is not a mere interval of human history, but his entire life and what happened to him, his son and his people and the flood are the projections, so to say, of a Fass (Divine Engraved Seal) which has concealed the secrets of human beings and their creation and the consequent marooning of the mankind upon this planet, a tiny speck of dust lost in searchless depth of cosmos.

Q: What is Subbuhiya?
A: Subbuhiya is being Subbuh, a sanctified Divine State that requires no name for the sanctified. When you say Subhan-Allahi (Sanctification for Allah) you must mention the identifier Allah, however Subbuh is a similar form of sanctification that requires no identification or nomenclature for the sanctified. Conceptually it is to sanctify or cleanse or free an entity from all that is imperfect defective or evil.

There are number of themes in this work of Ibn Arabi:

1.    Tashbih (Simile) and Tanzih (Cleansing from similitude) form a quantal dipole
2.    Noah’s call to his people was of two distinct types which he could not integrate into one and thus his people rejected him
3.    Some of the followers of Muhammad, those within the Muhammadian Maqam (Rank), understand that the call towards Allah is impossible and thus it requires the voyage ‘towards’ the Asma’ (Divine Names) of Allah instead
4.    Noah’s parents, believers and his house and his vessel are Tajalliyat (Lucent Manifestations) of Aql (Intellect), Nafs (Self), Qalb (Heart) and his ship the Muzhir (Place for Manifestation) of Divine Secrets.
5.    Noah’s ship, surviving preserved within the third state, is still upon the waves (of Ma'arif (gnosis)) and whosoever wishes to climb up on to the board, s/he can per past invocation of Noah during the flood.

Quantal Dipole of Tashbih (Simile) and Tanzih (Cleansing from similitude)

The said dipole is extracted from the following:

42:11 There is nothing whatever like unto Hu (IT, Him), and Hu (IT, He) is the One that hears and sees (all things).

Pole 1: There is nothing whatever like unto Hu (IT, Him), whatever of intellectual prehensions (Grasp, Idrak) or spiritual experiences or corporeal activities, and no matter how righteous or pure, and no matter who well intentioned, is far far away from Allah. This is perpetual experience of helplessness to acquire to grasp anything near to Allah is called Tanzih (Cleansing from similitude).

Pole 2: And Hu (IT, He) is the One that hears and sees (all things), immediately after the Tanzih comes attributing senses of hearing and sight to Allah, similar to human hearing and seeing yet infinitely more perfected while free of any instrumentations. This perpetual experience (consciousness) of Allah’s hearing Allah’s seeing (and all other such senses) is called Tashbih (Simile).

Ibn Arabi
Fass Nuhiya
“And as such he who did establish Tashbih (Simile) for Allah and failed to provide Tanzih (Cleansing from similitude), therefore endeavored bonding Allah and setting limits for Allah and never became cognizant of Allah.”

Tashbih (Simile) or Divine Anthropomorphization vs. Tanzih (Cleansing from similitude) or Divine Deanthropomorphization forms a dipole, similar to a magnetic dipole of the compass by use of which the mankind can navigate the earth and its sky and if you are to take this compass away from the navigator he would be lost and so will be all the passengers on his vessel. Similarly when the dipole is not formed and people are left with only Tashbih (Simile) or Divine Anthropooorphization  and therefore cannot navigate the atmosphere of the Divine Presence thus losing their way both as individuals and as nations.

Ibn Arabi continues further:

Fass Nuhiya
“And he who understood the quantal linkage between Tanzih (Cleansing from similitude) and Tashbih (Simile)—since this is impossible to achieve via Tafsil (Knowledge that is endued with subparts and repeatable detailed-ness)—indeed become cognizant of Allah in a quantal fashion, not in any form of Tafsil, as he is cognizant of his own Nafs (Self) in a quantal way not in a Tafsil way.”

You are not cognizant of your own Self because of some owner’s operations manual, or because of a psychologist report about your Self, you simply know, in a unital indivisible manner, you are you and other than all else you can sense. Even a newborn is cognizant of his or her self, when crying for milk, therefore this cognition of Self requires no fully developed brain/mind to grasp. That in Sufism is called Quantal, as in Quantal Knowledge.

Q: What is Quantal Knowledge?
A: Imagine your car, you send it to the mechanics shop for repairs, it has thousands of subparts and many are replaced by the mechanic and yet when it is returned to you, it is still a car, functioning like a car and you are cognizant of it being your car. In this case we say the car is not quantal. Now imagine entities that even by looking, probing or thinking about a subpart of it, it ceases to be! Such entities can be understood as one unit with no discernible subparts, and if you attempt to alter or look at its subparts it ceases to be. Such forms of knowledge called Quantal Knowledge.

Q: What is Tafsil or Mufassal Knowledge?
A: The reverse of Quantal Knowledge, it has subparts subject to probing and alternations and yet stays the same knowledge. For example the knowledge of Arithmetic is Mufassal or Tafsili Knowledge since its subparts can be proved or disproved, copied and its axioms subject to changes and refutations or improvements.

Noah’s Call

Ibn Arabi
Fass Nuhiya
“Had Noah, peace be upon him, integrated his two calls for his people they would have most certainly responded to him favorably:

Call 1: 71:5. He said: "O my Lord! I have called to my People night and day”

Call 2: 71:9. "Further I have spoken to them in public and secretly in private”

Lailan (during the night) vs. Nahāran (during the day) and again ‘A’lantu (in public) vs. Asrartu (in private), are indicative of the two calls Noah made and his inability to integrate them into one seamless invitation for his people.

Ibn Arabi attributes this failure and inability of Noah to the fact that this prophet only had access to Furqan (Divisor of good and evil) and did not have access to Qur’an i.e. the reading entity that allows for the caller to unite all aspects of call to Allah under one verbiage and do so often in a partial sentence.

Istilahat Khashani
Al-Furqan is Tafsili ((Knowledge that is endued with subparts and separable/repeatable detailed-ness) to tell Haqq (The Absolute Realty & Truth, Allah) and Batil (All other than Allah) apart. Al-Qur’an is Ladunnā (From ‘Us’) Knowledge that has come from Allah without any worldly learning or effort; it is quantal integrating all realities.

Muhammad peace be upon was given the Jawāmi’u Al-Kalam i.e. integrated and compressed form of a Divine Verbiage that enabled him to make a multi-threaded call to his followers and the disbelievers, while alive and even from his grave. The Call from Muhammadian Maqam (Rank, State)

Azizam (My Dearest)

The man how bows and prostrates to a stone idol and you who loves and moans at the loss of a beloved, are of no difference, for he tricks himself into thinking he is worshiping other than Allah and you fool yourself that you had loved and lost some beloved other than Allah. At the end of this journey both are polytheists, both return to one beloved deity, the object all want and desire in cosmos, the light of every eye, the sole source of beauty of all that is beautiful.

Ibn Arabi glares at the iridescence of Fass-Nuhiya (Engraved Seal of Prophet Noah) only to see Noah's nation fooled themselves and made much trickery to worship idols other than Allah, and after all, and after all that was said, and when the tides subsided, all left to glare at was the true deity and the true beloved, never was and ever will be other than Allah the Lord of the Multiverse.

However Ibn Arabi notes that the people within the state/rank Muhammadi are not calling to Allah, for Allah is unreachable and search-less, they indeed know (now that the last Prophet has come) there are Divine Names (Ism) towards which Allah can be called to and people directed to:

19:85 The day We shall gather the righteous TOWARDS Al-Rahman (The Most Beneficient), like a band presented before a king for honors,

Within the language of the Arab ‘Ilā (Towards) is the Harf-Al-Ghāya (Preposition or Adverb for directing towards an extreme extent of some boundary) and as such the latter was applied for the Divine Name Al-Rahman (The Most Beneficent), and in particular it is (vectorial) from a point where the person is towards the destination on the boundary.

And the deployment of the latter distinguishes the nation of Noah from the Muhammadi folk of the Muhammad peace be upon them both. Noah was not given the Divine Beautiful Names (Asma’ Al-Husna) and yet the last of the Prophets was given the verbiage of the Ism (Divine Name) within the language of the Arab and the directional spatial attributes of these Names allow for directing the servants towards Al-Rahman even if their prophet is long gone.

Q: What is Maqam (Rank) Muhammadi?
A:

Ibn Arabi
Futuhat Makkiyah
She, the pleasure of relief, is the exit from the coercive subjugation to freedom of willfulness, she is to escape from the confinement to unconditional freedom of movement and the latter is called the Maqam (Rank) Muhammadi. While lasting within the state of confinement (Hijr) is Maqam (Rank) Yusufi (Joseph) since he preferred to stay in prison, when he was free and when he was jailed.

Q: What is Ism/Asma’ (Divine Names)?
A: Ism is a Spectral Identifier like the light exiting from a prism and one by tracking a specific ray/color towards the prism can find a way towards the source of the light. Now add a component of language to this Spectral back & forth Voyage and you have yourself a way to acquire knowledge, information and new cognitive and emotional experiences from the other universe of spiritual entities. In this case, the prism is Adam the first human being and the light is Nur (Divine Light), so you might say Ism is Lingua-Spectral bi-directional voyage that gives the Muhammadi Nexus an intellectual and spiritual passage towards the most unreachable regions of the Divine Presence.

Q: Who or what were Noah’s parents, those entered his house of believing males and believing females, and what really was his house?

A: Ibn Arabi claims Noah was the resultant of immixing of ‘Aql (Intellect) and Tabi’at (Physiological Nature), believing males are the collective/society of ‘Uqul (pl. Aql i.e. Intellects) and believing females are the collective/society of Nufus (pl. Nafs i.e. Selves).

71:28. "O my Lord! Forgive me, my parents, all who enter my house in Faith, and (all) believing men and believing women

What the unaided optical eye saw were a bunch of farmers mounting the Noah’s ship, in reality those formed a Nexus or a society of As-hab Al-Safina (The Companions of the Ship), a fully connected continuum of a collective of ‘Uqul (pl. Aql i.e. Intellects) and Nufus (pl. Nafs i.e. Selves). As opposed to the Western kindergarten renditions of the long bearded old man with his dusty farmers boarding on one side of the ship and the roosters and goats and giraffes on another ramp.

The As-hab Al-Safina (The Companions of the Ship) were Tajalliyat (Lucent Manifestations) of the ‘Uqul (pl. Aql i.e. Intellects) and Nufus (pl. Nafs i.e. Selves) into the form of few farmers. And at that those Tajalliyat (Lucent Manifestations) enjoyed the highly focused Ta’ayyun (Contrast) of biomaterialization upon the crust of this tiny lost planet within the gargantuan expanse of the cosmos. Without this focus and Ta’ayyun (Contrast) Uqul (pl. Aql i.e. Intellects) and Nufus (pl. Nafs i.e. Selves) would have stayed as non-individual non-persona spiritual entities in an indivisible quantal realm.

Q: What was the nature of the Noah’s Ship?
A: “Whomever wishes to become cognizant of the Divine Secrets of Noah, do CLIMB aboard the Noah’s Ark which is made up of the Tanazzulāt (Repeated Downwards Revelations) Muwsaliya (Connective) La-Nā (to Us i.e. the Divine Nexus which has closeness vs. farness) wrote Ibn Arabi concluding this Fass (Engraved  Seal).

29:15. But We saved him and the companions of the Ark, and We made the (Ark) a Sign for all people (Multiverse)!

“And we carried him upon the planks with nails” [54:13]: In this verse the word Dhāt (Essence or Attribute) is used to point out the importance of the planks and the nails as the corporeal objects that were a part of the spiritual voyage of Noah! Otherwise what was the importance of these lowly substances, Noah’s spirituality was immixed with the planks and nails or else he could not travel as was decreed.

The usage of the verbiage Lil-Alamina (For all universes, for all people) indicative of the fact that any creature in any universe who is willing to climb aboard the Noah’s vessel are given a chance to do so by approaching the spiritual anchorage of the vessel and thus climbing aboard, long after and far away from when and where Noah was upon this vessel.

The ship is not the silly couple of lumbers preserved in a snowy summit of a tall mountain some place exotic video taped by the stunned camera crew of National Geographic expedition! The Hollywoodification of Noah’s Flood as well as the other Prophetic incidents has reduced the spiritual impact and significance of these events and replaced them as mere fables for popcorn eating soda drinking nameless faceless consumers.

Coda

Therefore if you had spoken solely with Tanzih, you are confining
And if you had spoken solely with Tashbih, you are limiting

And if you had spoken with both you had been right on target
And you had become the pioneer guide for Divine Gnosis, a master

Therefore he who talks about duality is a polytheist idolater
And he who talks about singularity is a professor of Divine Oneness

Therefore it is for you Tashbih if You are an adorer         (You Allah adoring praising You Allah)
And it is for you Tanzih if You are a singleton                  (You Allah are a singleton beloved deity)

However you (reader) are not Hu (IT, Him): Only You (Allah) is Hu (IT, He) and you (reader) see Hu (IT, He)
Within the core essence of all affairs, free to roam and all the while confined (to Being ITself and being nothing else )
